Bridon Galfan Spiral Strand and Galfan Locked Coil Cable assemblies are integral to many landmark structures around the world. Petersen are the sole UK and Middle-East agent for Bridon's extensive range of tension structure solutions. Our experienced support team have an established track record of quality, cost and delivery on projects of all sizes.
High Tensile Cable Systems allow a reduction in diameter from traditional steelwork, minimising visual impact of supportive structures and maximising light and space within the building.
Cable Tension Members are typically used to span long distances or in applications where the bend in the cable is used to provide tension to whatever is attached along its length - for example Catenary Cable Systems, Bow Struts / Bow Truss Glass Wall Supports, Cable Net Structures and Tensile Fabric Structures.
This is a common arrangement for cable-stays on cable-stayed bridges and for hanger-cables on suspension bridges. The fork fixes to the support tower or suspension cable clamp and the threaded end is bolted through the deck allowing loads to be jacked-in and the cable length adjusted to suit. Available for both Galfan coated spiral strand cables and Galfan coated locked coil cables up to 180mm diameter.
An alternative to GC1 above this is also a typical arrangement for cable-stays on cable-stayed bridges and for hanger cables on suspension bridges. The thread is of an 'armoured' design making it less susceptible to accidental damage during storage on site and installation.
Commonly used in stadium roof ring cable and radial cable construction and available for both Galfan coated spiral strand cables and Galfan coated locked coil cables up to 180mm diameter. Cables are pre-stressed and measured under load to give a high accuracy dead length and to ensure the correct resistance in your structure once installed. The fork sockets are manufactured to exacting quality standards.
A similar arrangement to GC1 but with a more contemporary look, GC4 is a typical arrangement for cable-stays on cable-stayed bridges and for hanger-cables on suspension bridges. The fork fixes to the support tower or suspension cable clamp and the threaded end is bolted through the deck allowing loads to be jacked-in and the cable length adjusted to suit. Available for both Galfan coated spiral strand cables and Galfan coated locked coil cables up to 180mm diameter.
Available for both Galfan coated spiral strand cables and Galfan coated locked coil cables up to 180mm diameter. The threads are of an 'armoured' design making them less susceptible to accidental damage during storage on site and installation.
Similar to system GC5 but with conical design sockets giving a more 'architectural' look. Available for both Galfan coated spiral strand cables and Galfan coated locked coil cables up to 180mm diameter.
Similar to system GC6 but with an internal thread at one end for jacking or fixing onto a protruding stud. Available for both Galfan coated spiral strand cables and Galfan coated locked coil cables up to 180mm diameter.
As System C1 but for Galfan sprial strand cables. Available from 8mm to 35mm diameter. This arrangment is very commonly used in tension fabric structures where galvanised wire ropes are specified for the boundary cables.

As System C4 but for Galfan sprial strand cables. Available from 8mm to 35mm diameter. All cable and fittings manufactured in Europe. A fork terminal at one end and a fork turnbuckle tensioner at the other, to allow fixing to gusset plates at both ends of the cable and easy adjustment of stay cable length.
As System GC11 but with an adjuster fork turnbuckle at both ends. This is a particularly useful arrangement if things have been pre-clamped to the cable and need to be tensioned without changing their position.
